Artist: Lorraine Brinit Bush


About the artist: Lorraine Brinit Bush is originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with an Associate Degree, and from La Roche College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art and Design. She has been working commercially doing book covers, decorator plate designs and private commissions. She taught painting and crafts at Alvernia College in Reading PA.

In 1997, Lorraine tied for 6th place in the National Pennsylvfania Trout/Salmon Print Competition. She has always had an interest in horror and science fiction. Her father, who taught her as a child, suggested she enter the art competition at the 35th Famous Monsters of Filmland Convertion ins Crystal City, Virginia in 1993, where she won a first Place award. Lorraine said that this gave her the incentive to do more monster paintings. "It's been a lot of fun ever since."
