This set of delightfully detailed steel engravings, c 1836, have been mounted and framed as one picture. Each ‘season’ is beautifully drawn, handcoloured, gilded and illustrated in great miniature detail showing people, houses, trees and curling foliage delineated in pale blue-grey and gold. The four engravings have been framed together with gilding around each panel and framed into a plain gold wooden frame some years ago. This measures 26.5cm x 36cm. There are some scratches, especially on the LHS of the gold frame, several marks in between the glass and the mount of the engravings and the mounting tape of the backing is slightly coming away at the corners. Also the hook at the back is mounted is off centre for some reason. All these aspects, which are consistent with the age of the item, are detailed in the photos above.
