Heavy forged iron cobbler’s last mounted on a tall, utilitarian wood block, likely dating to the late 1800s. The iron last shows clear stamped markings along the spine and deep, even wear from shaping and stretching leather over time. The detachable shoe-shaped top is intentional and correct to period shop construction, designed to lift free for working, swapping, or repair.
The vertical steel bar is firmly set into the wood base and structurally solid. The wood stand appears original and functional, with age cracks, surface checking, darkened patina, and wear consistent with long-term workshop use.
