WOW. This is a very raw and collectible set! 6 pieces total. Great vintage condition- only signs of wear is the normal crazing in the glaze. This is a French-Russian friendship commemorative plate, produced by the Lunéville earthenware factory around the 1890s. It commemorates the Franco-Russian Alliance, specifically the naval visits to Kronstadt in 1891 and Toulon in 1893.
Made by the French company Keller & Guérin (K&G) in Lunéville. The company was founded in 1786 in Lunéville, Lorraine, France.
One has- The mark on the back of the plate is a handwritten signature for K & G (Keller & Guérin) Lunéville, a renowned French faience manufacturer. These types of simple painted signatures were in use around the year 1875.
The others have the mark "K&G Lunéville" which indicates the plates likely dates from the late 19th century, circa 1895.
K. et G. Lunéville' mark was used from around 1892 onwards.
K&G was known for its high-quality earthenware, often referred to as "demi-porcelain.
