Vintage Victoria Taxco Mexico AKA Ana Nunez Brilanti Sterling Silver Brooches

Ana Nunez Brilanti, known as Victoria to Mexican Silver collectors, established a small workshop in Taxco Mexico in the 1940s.
Much of her work is influenced by pre-Columbian art, although she created some highly individualistic modern designs.
Brilanti is credited with introducing the "metales casados" or married metals technique to Taxco and was a strong proponent in establishing the 1948 Eagle mark system as a guarantee of quality.
In the early 1950s, her daughter and son-in-law opened the "Cony" shop that showcased and retailed her jewelry and tableware.
These pins are an exemplary example of some of her work, created in the 1940s.
Created of sterling silver with her hallmark on the backside of each pin, the brooches measure 1 1/2" high and approx. 7/8" wide (at the widest part)
