This listing is for two bolts of Matsusaka cotton in a storage room color. The width is 40cm and the length is over 12m.
This indigo dyeing is designated as a traditional craft of Mie Prefecture.
This is a product from a workshop that stubbornly adheres to traditional methods of dyeing and weaving.
Cotton dyed with true indigo is characterized by its beautiful color that deepens with each wash.
This is a raw bolt. When tailoring, please wash it with water to remove the sizing before use. The workshop says that they have to apply a little sizing to the thread to weave it properly. It also improves the texture. How about using it for a single-layered kimono?

When washing with water, do not wash it with other items. (Although the indigo color may transfer to other items after it stabilizes, it should come out with washing.)
The fabric will shrink slightly when soaked in water, but it is woven with a larger width and length to account for this.

Indigo dyeing is very time-consuming and labor-intensive. It is also dried in the sun. This is a Japanese hand-woven cotton bolt. Thank you for your consideration.
