Beat Tape 2 (5th Anniversary Gold Edition)
Brand new, sealed.
Special edition of Beat Tape 2, a limited edition gold vinyl for the 5th anniversary.
Tom Misch, who is popular for his stylish sound and beautiful voice, which fuses jazz, electronica, soul, and hip-hop, and his stylish guitar playing. He broke through with his debut album "Geography," and this year he is also a hot topic with his collaboration album "What Kinda Music" with drummer Yussef Dayes. The release of the 5th-anniversary gold vinyl LP of the masterpiece "Beat Tape 2," which was the trigger for his leap, has been decided.
Tom Misch "Beat Tape 2" appears on a 5th-anniversary gold vinyl LP.
Originally released as a mixtape in 2015. The wobbly beats that give a strong impression of J Dilla are accompanied by clappy snares, neo-classic soul-style electric piano chords, funky basslines, and the smooth guitar melodies that are the trademark of Tom Misch. As the title suggests, this work focuses on the beats, and his own ennui vocals are suppressed, but instead, the guitar, which sings out, reminds us of John Mayer and George Benson, whom he publicly acknowledges as influences, and is playing important riffs in most of the songs.
"Nightgowns," featuring Loyle Carner's rap on a J Dilla-style boom-bap beat, "Wake Up This Day" with Jordan Rakei, whose husky voice brings a neo-classic soul texture, and "Wander With Me" with Carmody, with whom he produced a duet EP in 2014, are all masterpieces.
In addition, he features many vocalists such as Alexa Harley and Sam Wills, and collaborates with Alfa Mist from East London on "Hark," which features a beautiful piano.
