Poignant limited edition print by Michael P. Kelley, created for the California Vietnam Veterans Memorial (1987).
This evocative sketch, titled “Extraction from a Hot LZ, Leaving Behind a Classic Ford and Our Innocence” (Sept. 1970), captures the intensity and loss experienced by American soldiers during the Vietnam War.
Kelley, himself a Vietnam veteran (D Co. 1/502 INF, 101st Airborne Division), drew from personal experience to create this deeply human image.
