Up for grabs: Richard P. Havens, 1983, the ambitious double-LP released on Verve Forecast in 1969. This is Richie Havens’ breakout studio statement following his rise from Greenwich Village folk clubs to Woodstock fame. Spanning a mix of soul, gospel, psychedelic folk, and protest rock, the album includes stirring covers and Havens’ own raw originals — his signature open-tuned guitar style and commanding vocals are fully on display.
This is the original U.S. pressing (Verve Forecast FVS-9519, 2xLP, gatefold). Both discs come in original Verve inner sleeves. The gatefold includes full artwork and liner notes. Deadwax inscriptions match original ’69 pressings.
