First edition, first printing hardcover copy of Ghost Story by Peter Straub (Coward, McCann & Geoghegan, 1979). Rare true first edition of this classic horror / supernatural thriller novel by the acclaimed author. Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with some rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges. Tear and some creasing to bottom fore corner of front cover. Boards straight and largely clean save for fading/tanning to top and bottom edges of boards, and with corners bumped. Binding is firm and spine is straight. Small stain to top fore corner of text block affecting last couple dozen pages. Previous owner’s ex-libris sticker on front endpaper. Otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked.
