Beautiful English Ironstone Polychrome Transferware Saucer by Thomas John & Joseph Mayer (T.J. & J. Mayer) dates 1842-1855. features a mulberry transfer design in an aesthetic pattern called Ava with hand-colored florals and classic Chinoiserie elements such as pagodas, ships, and floral sprays.

Measuring approx 5.75" wide

The early Mayer crown-and-ribbon backstamp is visible on the underside, consistent with mid-19th century production.

Condition notes:

This saucer is over 170 years old, so age-related wear is present:

* Heavy crazing typical of early stoneware

* small rim chips (photographed)

* Discoloration and surface wear

* Backstamp faint but readable

Still displays beautifully and is ideal for collectors of Chinoiserie, mulberry transferware, or 19th-century English pottery.
