Gorgeous vintage Royal Winton Grimwades pitcher/jug featuring a stunning hand-painted "apple" design motif. One side showcases the ripe, blushing apple fruit, while the reverse displays delicate apple blossoms. This piece is a great example of the distinctive art deco/chintz style popular in the mid-20th century.
It has a rounded, squat body and a charmingly shaped spout and handle. The base is marked with an impressed number, possibly a shape number like '15' and a ‘1799’ consistent with Royal Winton Grimwades pieces. The interior is glazed a light, glossy color. A fantastic addition for collectors of Royal Winton, chintz pottery, or vintage kitchenware.
Excellent vintage condition. Royal Winton Grimwades produced these styles, including the 'Old Cottage' and similar patterns, primarily from the 1930s to the 1950s.
