Antique shooting-prize medal dating to 1901, from a Dutch-speaking rifle or shooting club.

The medal is a silver-tone Maltese cross with ball finials and decorative rays between the arms, topped with a detailed royal crown. In the center is a gold-coloured lozenge with concentric rings representing a rifle target – classic marksmanship imagery from this period.

The reverse is hand-engraved:

In Dutch this means “First Prize (Class B)”, making this an original 1st-place award for a shooting competition over 120 years ago.

Approx. size (including crown & ring): about 6 cm tall x 3.5 cm wide (2.4" x 1.4") – measured by hand

Metal: silver-coloured base metal with gilt details (no visible hallmarks; sold as untested base metal, not guaranteed silver)

Front: white-enamel cross, gold target center, crown suspension

Back: engraved inscription “D. 1e Prijs B 1901”
