Vintage '50s Signed Florenza Red Aurora Borealis Rhinestone Openwork Brooch Pin
This is a beautiful Florenza brooch in a mid-century modern design using red aurora borealis rhinestones on an antique silver tone backing from the late 1950s to 1960s. Three crescent swirls constructed in openwork style. Each rhinestone chaton are prong set and full of sparkle. The brooch is stamped FLORENZA on the back. This would be a great addition to your vintage jewelry collection. It is in good vintage condition with the exception of one missing rhinestone.
The Dan Kasoff Company first began to create jewelry in the 1930's but the hallmark FLORENZA was first used in 1948. The company continued to make jewelry until 1981. The signature look of Florenza is the interesting use of stones and expert metal work. Florenza has an antique looking gold tone and silver tone metal and many times uses a very creative use of color.
