For those collecting post-revolutionary Taxco jewelry, this earring and ring set is a treat. Jewelry made in this part of Mexico experienced a renaissance after the Mexican revolution, from 1931 til the 60s, largely due to American silversmith William Spratling, who settled in Mexico and revitalized this long-standing art form.
This set is marked “plata” on the ring (silver) and the markings on the screw back posts also have a marking but it’s very worn. I believe the stones are pillow glass but they could be aquamarine. Ring is slightly adjustable and fits at about a size 6.
