About The Artist: Russ Jones began in comic books in the early 1960s and was founding Editor of "Creepy" and "Eerie" magazines for Warren Publishing. He painted covers for various paperback publishers, including Ballantine Books. Russ did covers for "Famous Monsters," "Monster World" and "Castle of Frankenstien."

This phase of his career ended in 1968, only to be brought back into the field by actor Daniel Roebuck. The last painting Russ did in 1968 was a portrait of Boris Karloff, commissioned by Forrest J. Ackerman. Russ considers it one of his best.
